The Alpha IQ: Re-imagining Alpha for The Future

Strategic retention & reactivation (reclamation) programs focused on each chapter’s specific needs.

  • Develop a reorientation for reactivated brothers utilizing our online (Alpha University) system and a DISC (Dominance, Influence, Steadiness and Conscientiousness) model to identify where reactivated (reclaimed) brother’s skills and personality can be used best for them and the fraternity.
  • Jointly with the Board of Directors, develop incentives for college chapters to be active participants in retention and reactivation of members initiated through their chapters.
  • Provide a strategy worksheet for alumni chapters to identify what type of brother would best fit the culture of the chapter
  • Address hazing, events and other liabilities, by working with the Board of Directors and subject matter experts (SME) directly by providing a clear training, penalties and desired outcomes.

strategy.

Intentional Member Development focused on a strategy about development from an interested candidate until entry into Omega Chapter, with a specific track for our college-initiated brothers.

  • With the support of the General Convention and the Board of Directors, engage in the development of a Ritual based membership around education of the ritual, while updating it to meet modern challenges. We will use the ritual as the base of membership from interest until Omega chapter entrance.
  • Utilize online tools (Alpha University) to provide more certifications on Alpha Phi Alpha leadership development and professional development
  • Provide intentional career mentoring for brothers using Alpha Elite to engage brothers who have similar career interests allowing a mentorship to brothers for their professional careers.
  • Evaluate the status of chapters in the fraternity and work with the General Convention to address pressing issues including the lower numbers of qualified men to be initiated at the college level and struggling alumni chapters.
  • Provide continuous annual evaluation and reporting to the General Organization about our outcomes with IMDP, Retention and Reactivation (reclamation) with goals for each chapter
